[ The one perk of getting used to hugging (March, at least) is that there's no hesitation between her walking into his arms and him wrapping his arms around her tightly. Any other time he'd make a joke about his obvious improvement but now doesn't feel like the time.
Instead he just stands there hugging her, content to stay where he is until March decides she's sick of hugging. ]
[ Honestly, yeah. She's definitely bursting into tears and getting his shirt wet, she's sorry. But sometimes you just hit your limit and it's someone who isn't falling apart on her first or being belligerent about her trying to cope with it, and that's all she needs right now. ]
[ Thank goodness he has plenty of shirts (and also a style upgrade).
Unfortunately, despite his progress in the act of hugging, his skills in the art of comforting people are sorely lacking. Sigewinne would be better at this, with a soothing touch and kind words, but all he's able to do is keep his arms solidly around March as she cries, unhappiness clear on his face as they stand there in silence for however long it takes for March to cry herself out. ]
[ It takes a while. It could take longer, but March is apparently doing her best to hold it together faster, taking a shuddering breath before she leans back. ]
[ March can take as much time as she wants? He loosens his arms as she starts to pull back, though doesn't let go completely, expression still worried. ]
You sure? I don't need to be anywhere.
[ She could cry for another 20 minutes if she really wanted. ]
I mean, I saw Malkuth and Ishmael get into it, so I thought beyond everything else, that might be rough for you too...
[ With a soft, shaky sigh. ]
And, you're... always supporting and being strong about it, so I wanted to make sure you didn't have to be the whole time. Even though... [ Well. She was the one who cried. ]
[ His face does crinkle a little at the mention of Malkuth and Ishmael. ]
I wasn't exactly happy to see it, but I trust both of them to handle it themselves. Besides, it's not really my place to step in when their history apparently goes way back. If they don't manage to work it out then... [ He shrugs. ] I'll deal with that when the time comes.
[ Work it out, girls!! Don't let him down!!! But now's not the time to fuss over all that. He looks down at March, a tired smile on his face. ]
Growing up, I didn't have a lot of people who bothered to watch out for me. I got pretty used to doing everything on my own. Knowing you care enough to make sure I'm not alone when things get tough....it means a lot more than I can say.
[ He ruffles her hair once (sorry), then leans forward to press a quick peck on top of her mussed up hair. (It's platonic, don't kill him Izou.) ]
[ She is both touched and offended by his treatment of her hair, offering a half-hearted swat to get him to leave it be as she raises her hands to smooth it back into place. Very familial of him, in a way the Express Crew wouldn't dare to do (except maybe the Trailblazer). ]
I'm a little late, so I can't help with the growing up support, but it just means I can double up my efforts here, right? [ There it is, a little smile. ]
So you'd better get used to me being there for you now.
.[ He'll be her substitute Trailblazer, except for the part where he won't dig through trash cans or lick frozen poles. ]
I'll be counting on you then. [ For as long as they're both here. ] In the meantime, why don't we get something to eat? If you really want to double up your efforts, you can even pay for it.

Just saying.
But her shoulders are beginning to tremble, so. He may be stuck there for a while. Muffled: ]
S-sorry, just... gimme a minute...

Take as much time as you need.
[ To breathe, to cry, to grieve. To do whatever it is she needs to do in order to deal with things. ]

Any more and my eyes are gonna get all puffy and swollen and I'm gonna walk into a wall because I won't be able to see.

[ And hold her hand like last time. Just kidding though, she probably needs water and some rest more than anything. ]
Let's get you some water though. [ And maybe something sweet to snack on?? ] Are you hungry?

[ Or she's tired. She can't quite tell. ]
Wait, but--I didn't help you at all??
[ SHE JUST CRIED ON HIM. ]

[ Sure, she cried on him, but he also got human contact out of it? ]
You also asked me how I was doing earlier. I appreciate you looking out for me, March.

You're doing more than enough, March.

[ But she steps back, reaching for his hand. It's fine. They can go get food. ]
