[ This response is rather curt and dry, isn't it? Almost like they probably have difficult relations, which isn't surprising at all when Callisto is involved....
Kabru had a bad feeling about this whole thing and he really should have thought this through a bit more.
Also there was not going to be any singing i won't make bijou do that to me i'll have to drop ]
Oh. Of course. [ That takes the winds out of his sails, but Kabru hands that letter over to Wriosthesley. With how he can't break the wax seal without being found out, he hasn't read it himself, so he doesn't know what it says. ]
[ Aw. That bit hadn't lasted long. She looks up with a huff, but otherwise doesn't look upset before her gaze flits back to Kabru, noting his confusion. ]
Hehe. The Duke has been kind enough to let me stay with him while LILITH figures out my arrangements. It's nice to meet you too; I'm Sigewinne.
[ Before he asks, or so he doesn't need to ask. It doesn't really answer the question he has in his head, but it's something over the nothing Wriothesley would probably be content to leave him with.
Then, she tilts her head, questioning. A message from a prince for a duke… wow… But what's with Wriothesley's terse expression? She raises a hand to catch onto his sleeve, as if to stop him from taking the letter itself. ]
But, Your Grace. He'd asked you so nicely. [ give us kabru waxing poetry ] This seems important for him to come out of his way for it. Won't you hear why he'd wanted it read specifically?
[ i read callisto's letter again and it does sound like it could be a song so ok fine he'll sing then i'll drop after this thread in shame ]
[ It's not the end of the world if Wriosthesley reads the letter by himself, but that's no fun, right? A gala needs fanfare! As a very thorough person, Kabru likes to see things through, and that includes pretending to be this man's royal aide even if there's no real reason for him to carry out this farce............... Ah, the joys of LARP.
He flashes a warm smile at Siegwinne. A proper lady! It would be nice to get to know her better later on. Whether or not they have the relations he is curious about, they look close. ] You have my gratitude, Sigewinne.

[ Now for the moment of truth. Kabru's been curious about the letter's contents for a while (while also harboring an ominous feeling...). Callisto told him to add a bit of pizazz, to sing if he must. Unfortunately for caps, Kabru has no shame about that sort of thing.
Nimbly, he breaks the seal and opens up the letter. Kabru then makes up a pleasant tune and reads along, his voice smooth and not unpleasant to the ear. Imagine something like this. ]
"Duke Wriothesley,
While you may not be my father-in-law, I would be rather wounded to have you skip over my heartfelt letter. After all, is it not natural to desire to know one better? Perhaps, we can share a drink, and discuss our plans for the future."
[ Ah, it sounds so normal so far ...... Just a regular letter. Just an invitation for a drink between potential friends. ]
"The punishment would be rather severe. [ Hold on now. That doesn't sound right. Kabru's voice starts to falter, like he's realising that something is very wrong. ]
[ And then the door gets slammed in his first, which has probably never happened before in his lifetime. ]
Wait -- hold on, sir! [ That's not unexpected, but it doesn't feel good at all. He's essentially just sung a threat to this man and it's the first impression he's making to him, so it might be the only impression he ever has! ]
[ This was a huge social blunder, wasn't it? For someone who prides themselves in managing social communications, it's just devastating!! He starts to feel those knots tying up in his stomach. They could think he's just like Callisto, a self-centered man who ignores boundaries and sends threats to people's houses. He's nothing like that! What if this sours his reputation amongst the Outsiders? Kabru wants to right this misunderstanding right away, but he also knows that knocking on the door and trying to speak to Wriothesley could make it worse!
i wrote a tag of him being stressed out by having the door closed on him and deleted it OKMSYRJ

Sighing, he lets his hand drop. ]

What the hell was he just forced to listen to? (The letter, not Kabru's singing voice.) ]
